Cancellations & Refunds

Should you wish to cancel your order or return any goods, please contact us directly.

If an item is faulty please contact us and we will arrange an appropriate remedy.

Please note that if you wish to cancel your order, you have 7 days from date of order to notify us. We will refund all monies received on the provision all items are non damaged and returned in the same condition they were delivered. We will then discuss the options with you and highlight any action you may need to take.

Delivery

Treatment

Most of our timber buildings (excluding log cabins) are pre-treated using a anti rot wood preservative. To warrant the guarantee for your building a good water repellent such as Cuprinol / Protec should be applied following guidelines from both the building manufacturer and and paint/stain used.

Sizes

All sizes stated are approximate and refer to the outer measurements of the building excluding roof overhangs. If you require an exact floor, roof or internal/external wall measurement please refer to the specifications or email our sales team at [email protected] for more information.

Installation

Fully detailed and easy to follow assembly instructions are supplied showing where each part fits. For further assistance we offer a full professional installation service on all our products. Timber

All outdoor buildings are produced from timbers of sustainable sources with the FSC label, this supports growth of responsible forest management worldwide.

Foundations

For safety reasons and to help prolong the life span of the floor it is essential your building is assembled on a suitable, solid base which is level and square to warrant your gauruntee. Here at MAP Garden Furnishings we recommend a flag or concrete base, tantalised timber bearers are also suitable.

Delivery Times

All our products are manufactured to order so please allow sufficient time when placing your order if you require your building on a specific date. Our busiest time is Spring and Summer so please allow extra time during these periods.

Log Cabins (Planning Permission)

Shire log cabins are designed & manufactured with planning in mind. In most circumstances planning is not required. Planning requires that all single storey buildings have a maximum height of 2.5m and 4 metres with a dual pitch roof or 3 metres on any other. Click here for planning on outbuildings.

Q. ARE THE LOG CABINS TREATED?

A. All Shire log cabins are untreated as standard and will require a good water repellent wood stain on all external timbers. The floor joists are pre-treated using a pressure treatment.

Q. HOW ARE THE LOG CABINS DELIVERED?

A. All log cabins are pre-packaged with all fixtures, fittings & instructions inside. Depending on the size of the log cabin they are usually unloaded using a hi-ab lorry or hand lifted off in pieces. Delivery is kerbside so please bear in mind vehicle access, parked cars, road works etc. when accepting your delivery. If you have any special requirements with your delivery please contact us prior to accepting.

Q. CAN YOU HAVE ELECTRICITY IN A PINE LOG CABIN?

A. Yes, it is quite simple but we recommend using a qualified electrician.

Q. ARE LOG CABINS SUITABLE FOR USE AS A HOME OFFICE, GYM, LEISURE BUILDING, SHOP OR AS AN EXTRA ROOM?

A. Yes, log cabins are designed to suit your requirements. We recommend you consider the thickness of log for your purpose, for example a thicker log will help reduce noise and increase warmth. You can also add extra insulation to the roof & floor, add electric heaters, carpets and laminate flooring to give that added warmth & comfort.

Q. CAN I ALTER THE SIZE OF A LOG CABIN OR CHANGE THE DOORS/WINDOWS OR/ADD A PARTITION WALL?

A. Yes pine log cabins can be altered to meet your specific requirements. We can work with you to design your building to meet your demands.

About:

The Dart apex shed is constructed in sections rather than modules, meaning that the buildings are designed and manufactured into larger panels for robustness, rather than being flat-packed into smaller parts which create minimal joints. This design choice minimizes weak points in the shed and reduces potential areas for water ingress. We refrain from using inferior materials, opting instead for only the highest-graded, slow-dried FSC-certified timber. Our selection of slow-dried timber is intended to lessen expansion and contraction, thereby reducing splitting, warping, and the appearance of knot holes, which extends the life of your shed. Both the floor and roof are fully composed of tongue-and-groove boards with a finished thickness of 12mm, eschewing any use of OSB. The roof is protected with a high-grade polyester-based mineral felt that is stronger and more durable, offering a life expectancy up to three times longer than traditional fiber-based mineral felt. The walls are built from shiplap tongue-and-groove boards with a substantial 12mm finish, mounted on a sturdy 45mm x 35mm frame. Doors:

Our heavy duty sheds come equipped with a robust, ledged and braced door that is fully framed. To prevent the common issue of cheaper sheds' doors sagging or becoming misaligned, we add diagonal bracing. Our standard fitting includes three tee hinges, a turn button, and an enhanced press lock with key. The doors are installed with left-side hinges; however, should you prefer a right-side hinge, please inform us, and we will accommodate your request at no extra charge. Please note: If you opt for double doors upgrade in lieu of your single door this might replace your window/s depending on size & configuration.

Windows:

Windows will be installed on the front wall as standard. We offer additional side windows as well. Should you opt for an alternative window style, such as an opening window, it will replace the standard window. The number of windows included with your shed depends on its size. Each window is crafted by joiners and fitted with 3mm horticultural glass, rather than the more commonly used, cost-effective styrene. Every glass pane is individually set within the joinery-made window frame. Options for opening windows, extra windows, and toughened safety glass are available upon request. Treatment:

The Heavy-duty range of buildings comes fully treated both internally and externally with an anti-fungal and anti-rot wood preservative. This treatment also provides protection against wet rot and infestation. Additionally, our treatment serves as a base coat, obviating the need for a primer and thus saving you both time and money.

Please note: after assembly, the building will require painting or staining in a color of your choice. Our treatment does not serve as a weatherproofing agent. For further information, please refer to the painting guidelines printed on the side of your chosen paint.

Delivery:

We now deliver to mainland England at no extra cost. Deliveries are kerbside. If you are unsure of our delivery areas and postcodes or have any special requirements please contact us directly.

Assembly:

We now assemble to mainland England. If you have chosen assembly a flat hardstanding base must be provided. Clear access from unloading outside the property to the assembly site with a 90cm working boundary area where the building is sited. We will always contact you directly if you have chosen assembly to discuss everything with you so have nothing to worry about on the day.
